Although the picture at the right shows the founder of the largest branch of Wynekens in the United States, Friedrich Conrad Dietrich Wyneken (FCD), and some of his descendants, the Wyneken Genealogy web site is not restricted to this branch. Rather, it is devoted to research on the whole of the Wyneken family, both present and past.

As such, it covers a time period from the 1500's through the present. It documents the geographical expansion of the family from its beginnings in the northern German town of Stade, through other parts of Germany, and eventually to countries as far apart as Chile, England, Spain, Russia, and the United States.
The signature at the top left of this page is that of Peter Christoph Wyneken (1644-1683/4), founder of the Bederkesa branch of the family. The signature at the right is from David Heinrich Wyneken (~1648-1709), founder of the Rüstje line. By the way, don't interrupt the download of this page too early or you'll miss the animation in the picture. |
